Can’t wait to try out this recipe for Turkey Sandwiches with Maple Mayonnaise courtesy of Amanda Hesser and the New York Times.
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tsp maple syrup
8 slices rye or whole wheat bread
1/2 pound turkey or smoked turkey, sliced
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and maple syrup; spread on 4 slices of bread, going all the way to the edges. Top with the turkey and apple slices and then with the remaining bread.
Add a large squirt of sriracha or other chile sauce to the mayonnaise for an extra somethin’ somethin’.
Makes 4 sandwiches.
