Red Wine Sangria – The Perfect Summer Drink

To say that I love sangria would be a gross understatement. I can drink it any time of the day or night, and I have made it enough times to know exactly how I like it. Try it out:

Sangria

Ingredients:
1 bottle of red wine, preferably Rioja, but you can also use Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel or Shiraz)
1 Orange
1 Lemon
2 tbsp sugar
1 shot brandy or rum
1 cup ginger ale or club soda
Fruit Suggestions: Strawberries, apples, oranges, peaches, raspberries, blueberries

Preparation:
Cut up your fruit of choice if required. I usually use strawberries, apples and oranges.
Pour the wine into a pitcher along with the ginger ale, the sugar and the shot of brandy or rum.
Squeeze in the juice of 1 orange and 1/2 -1 lemon.
Add in the fruit.
Stir and refrigerate until served.
